According to the Oxford Dictionary – A Miracle is….
An extraordinary and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore attributed to a divine agency.
Everyday we hear people referring to miracles. People being healed at Lourdes, historical stories from the bible about Jesus healing the blind and resurrecting the dead. But do miracles actually happen? Or are they simply coincidence?
In Buddhism we believe everything has a root cause, in order for it to exist. For example; nothing whether material, phenomena or living, can happen independently of other factors. So looking at miracles from this viewpoint, just because the occurrence isn’t explicable at this moment through natural or scientific law, doesn’t mean it’s a miracle and there’s no logical explanation discoverable through further research. If miracles do exist on the other hand, why don’t they exist in the form of everyone having enough to eat, or being given clean disease free water? Just a thought.
so…. What’s your take on Miracles? Can the dead be raised or the power of prayer heal all sickness?
We all love gold don’t we? Gold plays such an important role in life symbolising wealth & prosperity. We use gold for accessories, to celebrate marriage and to remember those vows on anniversaries but what about the other benefits of this mysterious colour?
The Esoteric/magickal benefits of gold include absolute authority, (self)confidence, creativity, perfection, solar energies, male energy, financial riches, investments, luxury, winning, worldly power, magickal power, overcoming bad habits/addictions. So in a nutshell the colour gold symbolises strength & control. But there’s more to this amazing colour and it isn’t what you’d expect. Whilst gold symbolises self confidence & authority, dominating it is the exact opposite. Many people who choose gold to wear, do so to make a statement & to be seen. It’s almost like ‘wearing a visibility jacket because without it you wouldn’t be quite as obvious.’ People favouring gold accessories & clothing often feel the need to shine having spent too long in the shadow of others, whether it be siblings or others.
Because Gold preference is all about image & the need to belong, it’s strongly connected to the solar plexus or Manipura Chakra. This is the point just above the navel representing attachment to old beliefs, ideals or materialism.
Well here we are on day 3 of the 17 Days In Colour blog. I hope you’re enjoying learning about the fantastic healing benefits of colour. Today is all about the colour YELLOW
12931904 – the solar plexus chakra
Healing properties: Yellow helps strengthen the nerves and the mind. It helps awaken mental inspiration and stimulates higher mentality. If you suffer from agitation or any nervous condition, yellow is a great calmative. Wearing yellow brings a feeling of joy and inner warmth and darker in colour, yellow also soothes pains in the nerves for example (shooting pains)
Soak a yellow coloured crystal such as Citrine in water overnight, then first thing drink the water. This is an amazing cleanser for conditions of the stomach, liver, and intestines. If you wrap a yellow bandage around scarred tissue it will help it heal quicker.
Yellow is also linked with the solar plexus, or psychic center. If you’re feeling burned out or psychically blocked, yellow is an amazing colour for removing obstacles.
The magikal benefits of Yellow: Yellow is governed by the air element. The deities attracted by yellow are around trade, travel, knowledge and magick. So if you own a business it’s definitely beneficial to have lots of yellow around. Yellow is of course associated with the color of the sun, and so it is considered the key colour of life-force, vividity, vitality and energy.
This is exactly what I’m doing now! This is my experience of reconnecting when all hope seemed to have gone. When things seem tough, when you feel you can’t move any further and all energy has gone – surrender. It worked for me & I know it will work for you!
Why do we find it so difficult to see the positives in life – yet we have no problem finding the negatives?
This was a question asked by one of my regular Saturday morning Mindfulness group members. The theme for the session was ‘bringing back the Joy in our lives’ and it became clear, somewhere along life’s journey our joy gets replaced with depression & anxiety.
So why do we find it so easy to think negatively about ourselves & the world – but so hard to find the positives?
